Chorus ConductorCommunity Chorus conductor, Bill Abbott, grew up in Minnesota where he studied piano, voice, and trumpet from his early childhood. He was a trumpet major/voice minor at Evangel University in Springfield, Missouri. He earned his Master’s in Music Ed. at Eastern Michigan University. Bill taught K-12 instrumental/vocal music for 10 years in Dundee, and for 22 years in Garden City. He retired from GCHS with a choral program that grew from 29 to 225 students. He then worked for 15 years with Marshall Music Company, working with beginning band/orchestra students in Michigan schools. Bill has travelled in all 50 states and 26 countries which included 14 mission trips with his church in Canton, MI, where he also leads music. He’s been married to his wife, Anita, for 51 years and has two musician sons and six wonderful grandchildren. Bill resides in Manchester, MI. He loves hunting, fishing, and construction work. He has a passion for music and enthusiastically enjoys directing the Tecumseh Pops Community Chorus!
